"I’m not promiscuous with my browsers on a daily basis, but I do like to switch off from time to time, just for fun" - hey Jake, that's funny.

I appreciate the social networking features of Flock, but since I'm living in a region with is still languishing with dialup, I gotta say I'm loving Chrome and I think I'll stick with it, at least until broadband snakes its way out here.

Thanks for positive article.

Hi Harry,

Thanks for the awesome feedback on Flock, we really appreciate it! I'm Flock's Community Support Lead and I'd love to figure out that strange GMail issue you're having. This is the first time I've heard of it, but a couple of the developers have already been looking into it because of your feedback.

It might be easiest if you email me directly at jen at flock dot com, so we can get a dialog going. Same goes for you Jake, if you want to contact me, I'd love to figure out the crashes. Do either of you have any extensions/add-ons or themes installed? It's always worth a shot to try disabling them for a clean go of Flock and see if it helps.

Hope to hear from you both soon.
Thanks! Jen Anderberg

I decided to give Flock another try after reading this. (I'm not promiscuous with my browsers on a daily basis, but I do like to switch off from time to time, just for fun.) I like its feature set a lot, and I appreciate that it uses noticeably less memory than Safari and doesn't seem to leak it as badly. But on my system anyway, it's still not very stable, which is what caused me to abandon it the first time 'round. It must have crashed 3 or 4 times in the 6 days I was using it as my primary browser. And one day I came back from lunch to find the Gray Screen of Death--I can't remember the last time I saw that. I can't prove it was Flock, but there was nothing else out of the ordinary running.

If I were a real social network fiend or an avid blogger, it might be worth putting up with all that. But I'm not, so it's not. I'll still fire Flock up now and then to check for updates, but I have to go back to Safari for now.
