You just hit on the head my pet peeve with Twitter. It's nonsensical and worthless to follow people back just because they're following you b/c you want to increase your number of followers. What's the point to have boring tweets from people telling you about their daily activities or even worse, cursing about some incident or what not? As for the alleged celebrities, I don't believe it's truly them. I love gadgets and I tweet about them. I think they're darn interesting too. I'm not selling anything and I'm not in it for money but I watch my number of followers stagnate or drop. Can't be in it for the followers. You have to tweet just for the pure love of wanting to spread the word of what you feel passionate about. Period.
