		<description><![CDATA[I&#039;m also somewhat skeptical. Why would Google undercut its partners just as it&#039;s starting working relationships with them? It&#039;s not as if those partners don&#039;t eventually want to serve up their own low-end Android phones. 

Maybe it&#039;s not a regular mobile phone. It might be a MID with VOIP and Google Voice. Or maybe it&#039;s a normal cell phone partnership with Wal-Mart/TracFone on the StraightTalk service.

The one major circumstantial issue is that Google has flirted with telephony before. The gPhone ended up being Android. Google made an initial bid in the 700 MHz auction but didn&#039;t actually buy any spectrum. If Google actually bought some of that spectrum a phone followup would make sense. Since they didn&#039;t they&#039;d have little choice but to follow an MVNO model. Either way it&#039;s a lot of overhead and headaches for information they could get much more easily through the existing services model.]]></description>
