I’m so hoping that Apple integrates the Lala app with the remote app for the iphone. I find it odd that while my iPhone is on the network, it can control all of my computer’s iTunes accounts, that I can stream my music to an Airport Express, but I can’t listen to the music on my Mac through my iPhone. Lala takes this one step further allowing users to listen to all their music on the go.

I’d have to side with this being bad news; with this purchase Apple would further consolidate their monopoly on online music distribution and reduce competition – not what I would consider a good thing. Then there is the very real possibility that after purchasing Lala Apple would cripple the service; I don’t think they’d buy it just to kill it.

Great news. Apple’s purchase of Soundjam, which was converted into iTunes, made the company boatloads of money and changed the music industry (mostly) for the better.
