James Cameron is the director of the two most successful movies of all time–Avatar and Titanic–and one of the film industry’s leading technologists. Eric Schmidt is the CEO of the biggest company on the Web, Google. This Wednesday night, October 27th, the Churchill Club–a cool Silicon Valley organization that sponsors events with interesting people from the world of technology and beyond–is presenting the two of them in conversation at the Fairmont hotel in San Jose, California.
I’ll be there. Better still, so can you–if you’re the winner of a drawing we’re doing to give away one complimentary ticket to the event (normally $99 for Churchill Club members).
What if you don’t live near San Jose? We’re also giving away a complimentary pass for a live Web stream of the event you can watch from anywhere. It’s a $9.95 value.
There are two ways to enter:
–Just leave a comment on this message saying you’d like in on the drawing–and specify whether you want a shot at the in-person ticket for the San Jose event or the livestream. If you mention the in-person ticket we’ll also enter you for the livestream, just in case you don’t get the ticket. (Please use a real e-mail address–which we’ll only use if we’re alerting you that you’ve won.)
–On Twitter, tweet me (I’m @harrymccracken) and tell me you’d like a shot at the free ticket. Again, mention “ticket” or “livestream,” and specifying the ticket will get you in on the livestream drawing as well. (Make sure you follow me so I can Direct Message you if you’ve won.)
Please pick one entry method (comment or Twitter) or the other–doing both won’t double your chances. And please enter by 5pm PT tomorrow, Saturday, October 23rd. We’ll close the contest and do a random drawing then.
If you don’t win either prize, you can still partake in the event by signing up for the livestream. And if you do so here and use the code chcharry10, you’ll get 20% off the $9.95 price.
Thanks to the Churchill Club for making this possible–and good luck!
