Spotify vs. Rdio

I’m trying out Spotify–the much-loved music service from the UK that debuted in the US today. I’m still forming opinions. In the meantime, TechCrunch’s Matt Burns has a good comparison of it with my current favorite, Rdio. (Spoiler: He likes ’em both, but prefers Rdio overall.)

    I suspect the integration with my local library will win the day for me. No more need to open iTunes, yay.

    I'm glad that Spotify is now in the U.S. for those that want it, but I'm not sure I get all the excitement. Here in the UK Spotify is quite popular, but most brits use the free service, which is ok but you get ads and the streaming quality is not as high as the paid-for service.

    It certainly is not a competitor to iTunes – which seems to be the way that U.S. tech writers are positioning it, music subscription services are niche at best, Spotify doesn't change this.

    Supposed to have more music than rdio, but I found less of artists that I listen to..
