Microsoft keeps announcing that it’s discontinued Windows XP. Consumers and businesses keep refusing to accept that decision. PC vendors, terrified of losing business, keep coming up with ways to sell the allegedly defunct but wildly popular operating system. Even Microsoft had to admit it was the most tenable version of Windows for netbooks. With Windows 7 allegedly at most a year away from release, it’s a safe bet that many XP groupies will simply pretend that Vista never existed and skip directly to 7. If they ever willingly give up XP, that is.
