Want an iPad? Waiting in Line Will Be Faster

If you want an iPad, go wait in line for one now. While online sales through Apple’ s website began at 1am Pacific Time, already shipping times are a matter of weeks. As of midday, those ordering through the website may be waiting 2-3 weeks for the tablet to show up.

    that and on Twitter while gathering the photos, that lines are forming at the Houston area Apple stores, but there was at least one report of no line at Best Buy in one of the same malls.

    The strategy might be to not line up, and use an alternative store. But selections might be smaller. If one wants 3G, try a store run by the network of your choice (all three of my iPhones have come from the AT&T store "nearby"–several hours closer than Apple's stores). (The same guy sold me the first two, and was also present when I bought the third.)
