Lion: A Disc-Free Upgrade?

AppleInsider says that OS X 10.7 Lion, Apple’s upcoming operating-system upgrade, may be delivered primarily as a Mac App Store download. (Makes since–among other things, those of us with MacBook Airs don’t have built-in optical drives to install the software from DVD…)

    Sorry, but if Apple is going to force the App Store down my throat, I'm out. Convenience? Fine. Only option? Thanks, but no thanks.

    Also, on a more technical note: since the App Store requires OS X 10.6, would this mean that in order to install Lion one should have Snow Leopard up and running?

    And for everybody with datacaps on their ISP accounts, there goes a few months’ usage when the 1Gig+ file comes down…
