Two nice stories at Slate touch on topics we’ve been discussing here lately:

• Annie Lowrey examines what went wrong at Borders–and agrees with me that the company had a gazillion woes unrelated to e-books.
• After chatting with me about Google+ on Bloggingheads.tv, Farhad Manjoo got to thinking about how Twitter should evolve, and decided it should double the 140-character limit. (My instinct is to object to that idea–but I’m trying to figure out why it wouldn’t be a good idea.)
