Here’s an amazing Stupid Search Engine Trick: typing the words “view” and “topic” in one query (or “phpbb”) into Bing will crash it.
Is this some kind of viral ad or something? All those searches work perfectly fine for me. Including from the links in the article.
Looks like Bing may have fixed this–when I tried it right before writing this post, it worked. Or didn’t work, I mean…
But, on the other hand, it was the first time I've used Bing. So, there's that!
Nope. It doesn't crash with any of those 3 search terms.
Did Technologizer get hacked or something?
Well, entering "view" and "topic" didn't crash Bing for me, but "phpbb" alone did. It gave me the following message instead of search result for "phpbb":
"Ref A: 1CC2EABB568E4950B279828F76E45FB0 Ref B: 640BBDC0F0C6CFC97C1B4DA4ABD9ABBD Ref C: Wed Aug 03 08:00:03 2011 PST"
Funny.
