I have been waiting for a long time for a VERIZON I PHONE. I really hope this is not another tease.

The first Verizon iPhone if released will have flaws and bugs like all other electronics, wait about 1-2 months after its released

I don't know, probably similar to AT&T. But if it costs an arm and a leg, looks like I can only get two of them. Can't wait!!!!!

Who is to say the iPhone 5 will have 4G…this hasn't been announced and Apple tends to wait till it is further along I'd say 2012 will be 4G on the iPhone… Now why would I not get a 4G iPhone? Have you seen the data fees for 4G? I'll stick to 3G till 4G is more affordable and has more coverage

If this had happened last year or earlier, when having an iPhone was a must (and the only player in the game really) I would have jumped on the bandwagon. If they do announce an agreement I'm sure a fair amount of people will switch but, frankly, I'm very happy with my Android-based phone and see no reason to switch now.

I currently have a HTC Incredible and absolutely love it. I have also had an ipod touch. Not the same as the iphone but close enough. I believe they are both good products and both have there pros and cons. I might think about getting a Verizon iPhone but not going to jump in and get one right away.

I'm tired of carrying around a cell phone (LG Touch) and a iPod. Gonna get it now and will pay for the upgrade to iPhone 5 (should it come out this summer).

Why get teh Verizon iPhone with out LTE? This would tie you in a 2yr contract….The new iPhone 5 will be out on mid August?

Do we know for sure that a newer iPhone will be available mid-summer? I can't imagine that Apple would repeat the situation they had on their hands a few years ago.

@ Jenn, you got the right idea! I plan to do the same. If Verizon does, in fact, announce an iPhone right now, it will be more than enough to keep me VERY happy for the next 6 months to a year. Also, even though the iPhone 5 is scheduled to be released in June/July, who says Verizon will for sure get it? That scares me – holding off for 6 months only to find out the latest iPhone won't be unveiled on Verizon and I've waited for nothing. I need to feed this craving!

I can also tell you that there will be new iPods in September and that Apple TV and airplay will get a big revamp in line with 5.0

The iPhone that is coming out for Verizon will support iOS 5.0 if anything the 3G and 3GS will NOT support it. Verizon is going to be changing their upgrade policy too. Come January 16th or 17th you will ONLY be able to upgrade after 20 months on a 2 year contract you won't have the early upgrade option anymore.
