Personal Game of Show: Epic Mickey
I’m begrudgingly choosing Epic Mickey because it shows genuine respect for the Disney character while taking the extra step of presenting moral and strategic dilemmas at every turn (I’ve detailed some examples elsewhere). This was probably not the best game at E3; many high-profile titles were not playable on the show floor, if at all, and this show was very much about hardware anyway. But Epic Mickey is a promising all-ages game, hiding mature themes and decisions in a cartoon shell.
Runner-up: Mortal Kombat, returning to 2D and shamelessly gorier than ever.
