I like Michael Mace’s take on Windows 8–hey, I know it’s smart, because it’s an awful lot like mine. (We both end with exactly the same thought: this is going to be fun.)

    Thanks for the link. In case anyone's wondering, I hadn't seen your post when I wrote mine, but you are right that we're thinking along the same lines.

    I really like the extended coverage you're doing on Windows 8. Excellent stuff.

    What I can't figure out is why so many commentators online see Windows 8 only as a tactical response to the iPad. I hate to think this, but maybe most people who are active online are too young to remember the DOS to Windows transition.
