Microsoft began its massive Windows ad campaign by baffling the world with two pricey commercials which costarred recently-retired cofounder Bill Gates and 1990s sitcom icon Jerry Seinfeld–and which didn’t seem to have anything to do with computer operating systems. Then it released new ads which melded appearances by PC users such as smiling South African schoolkids with gripes about the tone of Apple’s “Get a Mac” commercials. Still missing from all the TV and print ads is one word: Vista.
