Precise Selection Techniques for Multi-Touch Screens

Steve Jobs may have claimed that Apple invented multi-touch, but here’s a bit of evidence to the contrary: a Microsoft multi-touch patent that dates from months before the iPhone was unveiled. It shows some concepts which later showed up in Microsoft’s Surface table, and may be the basis of some of the multi-touch stuff planned for Windows 7.
