Holder for Storing and Supporting Articles

The earliest Microsoft patent filing I’m finding in Google Patents isn’t for DOS 1.0 or an early Microsoft Mouse or a primitive version of Flight Simulator. It’s for…a magazine and book holder. One which reminds me of the one my mom used to keep cookbooks open and clean in the kitchen when I was a kid. And Steve Ballmer is listed among the editors. Weird–anyone know the story behind it?
