What would this slideshow be without a picture of an iPod? This one originated in a patent filed after the first- and second-generation iPods had been released; it seems to show one of those versions, but the next iPod that Apple released was the oddball one that had a row of buttons above the control wheel. The proportions are off in this rendering: No iPod had a screen that small, and if the early ones were quite as chunky as represented here I’ve managed to block it from my memory.
